A unique opportunity to connect our communities with The Marriage Course and the Alpha Course this Autumn

On September 26th 2008 the movie FIREPROOF is being released nationwide.  From the producers of Facing the Giants, this film which has a strong Christian message, conveys a powerful story of a couple whose broken marriage is transformed and restored. 

The film is about Catherine Holt, a woman in her 30's who realises that she no longer loves her husband, Caleb, a fireman who loves his work too much (played by Kirk Cameron of Growng Pains fame).  Neither of them is a believer, but Caleb’s father, a Christian, challenges his son to consider “The Love Dare”, where thoughtful daily actions may recapture the heart of his spouse.  Caleb starts to do this as he discovers the love of God for himself. 

The strong Christian message along with the hope that marriages can be restored, gives us in the Alpha family a wonderful opportunity to connect with our communities around these themes this Autumn, through both THE MARRIAGE COURSE and the ALPHA COURSE.

 Steps you can take to take advantage of this unique opportunity:

• GO TO A FILM PREVIEW.  Fireproof is running private, pre-release screenings of the film which you are invited to as part of the Alpha network over the next 2 months.   Find a screening in your area. Then click on EVITE to RSVP. 
   
• PUBLICISE your MARRIAGE COURSE and ALPHA COURSE in your local area when the film is being released.  Your local movie theatre might be willing to let you put up poster/leaflets advertising your course.
  
  
• RUN A MARRIAGE COURSE towards the end of October/beginning of November to coincide with the film’s release. If you have never run a Marriage Course, this would be the perfect time to start.  Find out how to set up and run a course.
  
  
• CHECK THE MOVIE IS RUNNING IN YOUR AREA. If there is no screening in your area and you would be keen to help organize one, please e-mail kthompson@outreach.com
